My first year of having an elementary school child overwhelmed me.  I was so worried about how my child would adapt, it never dawned on me that I would need to as well.  Sure the routine was A LOT, but all of the outside of school work even for the early grades surprised me.  Bye gone are the days of play-doh and nap time.  From day one, the kids are ready to learn.

And in order to make sure they succeed, it needs reinforcement in the home.  I get it.  But now that I’m past my rookie days with my first kindergartener, I’m going in there prepared.

I scored all of my supplies for these personalized homework kits at Walmart, including the G2 Premium Gel Roller Packs.  My oldest son and I both love them for their smooth writing ink gel. Apparently, we aren’t the only ones!

G2 is America’s Go-2 gel ink pen. Known for its smooth writing and comfortable grip, these pens come in four point sizes and 20 vibrant colors.  G2 writes longer than all other gel brands, making it the perfect option for all of that homework!

Gather all of your supplies per grade/child.  You’ll also need a pencil box, an image of each child, and washi tape color for each kid.

First, cut the image of each child to fit the pencil box.  I went with an image, because we have a preschooler in the house, and I also wanted him to know which box was his to use (and more importantly, which one NOT to use!).

Adhere the image to the box with the washi tape color you want to assign to each kid.

Next, individually wrap each supply with the washi tape as assigned.  This helps all kids know which supply is theirs, plus you’ll know who left out their pens and pencils after homework is done.

If you need to put together notebooks or folders, choose similar colors to their pencil boxes and label with stickers, washi tape, or images.

Voila!  You’re ready to get started with homework.  Yipee?!?!
