Moe’s is Awesomeness: Review and Giveaway

Lately, I’ve been hesitant to dine out for a variety of reasons.  For one, it’s a challenge to wrangle two kids and go anywhere with this blasted cast one.  For two, I’ve found it’s getting harder and harder to get healthy and appropriately sized meals when I go out.  For three, I like to know that my food is sourced in a manner that is best for the environment and for the animal and it’s often hard to know.

Those three things play a big role in why I cook so often at home, but when we do leave the house, a favorite place to go is Moe’s Southwest Grill.  The philosophy behind their ingredients, variety of offerings, and kid-friendly atmosphere makes it an obvious choice.

When we go, I order an Art Vandalay (vegetarian) burrito and load it up with the awesome selection of veggies that they have (cucumbers, mushrooms, oninons, peppers), the hottest salsa available, and a dollop of their housemade guacamole.  I leave out the rice and also the cheese and sour cream to keep it vegan.

See those sneaky green peppers? 🙂

My kids love the quesadillas, and I don’t mind them getting chicken in theirs, because it’s all natural, cage-free, no-horomoes added meat.  I always ask for a little veggies to be added to their quesadilla, as they don’t seem to notice and it makes me feel better.

Yes, there’s tofu in that taco.

My husband loves the salsa bar.  He’s a dip-hog, so the fact that he can try all of the different salsas and get as much as he wants really floats his boat.  And, he loves that they serve organic tofu as an add-in option.  I don’t know a lot of people that add tofu to their tacos, but my husband is one of them.

Jon now has competition for his salsa.

What do you love about Moe’s?  Their variety? Their food mission? Their kid-friendly atmosphere? The shouting of “Welcome to Moe’s!” when you enter?  How about the queso?  It is pretty darn good.  If your a fan of the queso, be sure to pop into Moe’s on Thursday September 20th for FREE QUESO DAY!  That’s got my husband’s name written all over it.

Oh, and if I’ve got your mouth watering after all of this talk of Moe’s… fret not.  We’re giving away $20 in Moe’s Bucks to a lucky Charlotte Mom Favorites reader, which can be used at any local Moe’s!

 a Rafflecopter giveaway

**I was not compensated for the post, but was given Moe’s bucks to facilitate my review.  Y’all know though, I keep it real, and all opinions are my own.**

Unanimous decision, formerly the Ugly Naked Guy. A veggie taco that I love dipping in the chipotle ranch sauce.

I also always order the Art Vandalay or a tofu bowl. I had no idea that Moe’s tofu was organic. That’s a plus!

Our whole family loves Moe’s. We usually get burritos, quesadillas, and queso. But it really does not matter, since we have never ordered anything we did not like.
