A Food Lion Gift Card Giveaway – Nominate a Non-Profit to Win!

Not to long ago, when I was promoting the Food Lion Giveaway, one of my Facebook friends asked about the possibility of donating the gift card to a charitable organization.  Well, I had already started the giveaway campaign on my blog, so unfortunately although a great idea, it was a foregone conclusion.

And then it dawned on me… I also won a Food Lion gift card at the Frugal Cook-Off for use. It was for a generous enough amount, so I decided I wanted to split it in half and donate $125 to a local organization that could use a Food Lion gift card.

So, with that in mind, I’d like to ask you if you have a favorite non-profit that you think would be able to do the most good with a $125 Food Lion gift card.  Nominate them in the comments below (please include a URL).  I’ll contact the organization, “vet” them (make sure they are a standard non-profit that would be able to use the funds, and learn about their mission so I can share it with you), and then I’ll open up a poll so readers can vote for the organization that they want to win.

The nominated non-profit with the most votes will receive the $125 Food Lion gift card!

All official entries must be made in the comment sections on THIS blog, include a URL to their website, and must be a 501(c) non-profit organization.   Additionally, they must be in the state of North Carolina.  Entries are due by Friday, October 19th!  Only one entry per reader.

Let’s start giving!

I would like to nominate The Sandbox! The Sandbox locks arms with the community to walk with families who have cancer or life altering illnesses and this donation would go a long way to help us serve families in need this Thanksgiving! http://www.WhatsInYourSandbox.org | http://www.GotSandbox.org

Thank you for considering our charity, The Sandbox. We are currently in process with our holiday food drives and this would help tremendously. http://www.GotSandbox.org

With a warm heart I nominate The Sandbox. Their organization touches so many families throughout the year and especially during the Holidays. To win this would allow them to assist so many local families struggling to keep smiles on their faces.www.GotSandbox.org
