I’m a pretty big fan of Meetup.com, and it makes sense that if you are new to the Atlanta are and need to make some mom friends, this is the place to start. Having used that platform to start and grow the South Charlotte Playgroup which boasts more than 900 mom-members, I’ve found that it’s simple to create a playgroup, join an event, and get to know members.
When your talking about moms needing to socialize their children, that’s pretty awesome.

Virginia Highlands / Morningside Moms, 188 moms, If you want to build relationships with other moms then this is the meetup group for you. This group will give you the opportunity to build strong relationships with other moms and to meet other children. It’s important for children to get together and build their social skills. Our activities will consist of playgroups, park days, picnics, moms night out, craft activities, seasonal/holiday parties, and much more!
MOMS Club® of Peachtree Corners/Berkeley Lake, 27 members: Are you looking for activities to do with your kids? We are a group of moms with children who get together to share activities during the week. These include Playgroups, Park Days, Moms Night Out, Seasonal/Holiday Parties, Field Trips, Family Events, and much more!
Alpharetta Desi Moms, 67 members: This group is for desi moms and their infants/toddlers in Alpharetta and surrounding areas who want to get together to socialize and participate in fun activities during the week. The Brookhaven/Buckhead SAHM Playgroup, 61 moms: Meet with other stay at home moms of young children in Brookhaven, Ashford Park and Buckhead! The group is primarily made up of children ages 18 months to 4 years old, and our events reflect this. We want active moms and kids that we can all interact with instead of just seeing once every 3-4 months. Our aim is to create friendships for our kids that go beyond just the playground.
Eastside Intown Moms, 114 moms: This group is for moms and babies born between July 2011 and July 2012 who want to have fun! Looking to connect with other moms on the east side in: Kirkwood, Decatur, East Lake, Grant Park, Avondale Estates, Oakhurst, Edgewood, Glenwood, East Atlanta and surrounding neighborhoods. You should be laid back and looking to create community with other mamas through: playgroups, coffee dates, stroller walks, zoo trips…really any chance for us to get together and have fun!
Gwinnett Moms and Tots, 125 moms: Gwinnett Moms and Tots is a playgroup for moms and kids that is open to moms (or dads) living in Gwinnett county. Most of our meetups are in and around Duluth, Lawrenceville, Lilburn, Snellville and Centerville and other parts of Gwinnett. There are no dues or membership fees and any member of the group can add events or meetups to the calendar.
