Once upon a time in the land before kids I, Katie Harding, used to shop in “real” stores. I went to a mall, on a weekend no-less, and wandered the halls of shops at leisure. I perused racks of clothing, and actually didn’t grimace if a dress cost $225. One had to look like a career woman when she was a woman with a career.
Now, fast forward. I’m a work-at-home-mom. With two young children, a dog, and a mortgage. Time is precious, dollars even more-so. These days, if the clothes on my back don’t come from a consignment store or Marshall’s, it’s a banner day. Not that I’m complaining. I’ve found some great wardrobe items at both. But, it sure is nice to walk into a store and feel like a lady. That can purchase something off the rack. That isn’t from someone else’s closet or have a “Past Season” tag. Ya know?
Which is why, I’m so DARN GLAD I found Fab’rik. Boasting locations across the South (yep: Charlotte, Raleigh, Atlanta, we’ve got you covered), this store FLOATS MY BOAT. Let’s just walk you through the experience of my visit at the Charlotte store a few weeks ago.
Located in Stonecrest Shopping Center in South Charlotte, it was super-easy to get to! No parking a half-mile away and walking across a mall to get there. A time-saver I’m grateful for these days. When I workout, I don’t need it to be in heels.
Color me impressed. I’m greeted at the door and asked if I’d like something to drink. Beer? Wine? Champagne? Water? Here you go. Sip and shop. Yes. You read that correctly. Sip (or in my case chug) and shop! HEAVEN! Now, I didn’t happen to have my kids on this little jaunt (love to my nanny), but were they in tow, it would have been a-ok. They’ve got an enclosed play area with entertainment for tots. Uh-maze-ing. Why are other places not doing this? I would move in. Maybe that’s why??
Next up, the shopping experience. LOVED the clothes. I’m a mom. I embrace it. But when I’m out and about, I don’t need people mocking my mom-jeans! No mom-jeans here. Designer denim. Great prints, casual and career-wear. Just cool. And lovely jewelry too, I might add. Even better? Every item at Fab’rik (except the designer denim), is under $100. Yay!
I would have tried on everything in the store, but limited myself to a few items. Shall we take a peek? (Sorry for the bad self-photos!)
So what do you think? Not surprisingly, I had to walk out with a few of these. I don’t even think we can blame the booze. Now, just gotta find an excuse to wear the green dress. MNO anyone?
Want to check out the store for yourself? The Charlotte Location would like to invite you to their event on Thursday, 4/18 for Charlotte STYLE Week. It is a shopping event from 6pm-9pm where we will offer champagne, wine, and snacks as guests shop our spring and summer collection. We will be offering everyone 20% off of regular priced items during the shopping event. A portion of the event sales will be donated to the Junior League of Charlotte, the beneficiary of Charlotte STYLE Week.

*I was given credit at the store to facilitate my review. I did spend above and beyond my credit, because I loved it so much, and I know you will too!
This place sounds like heaven! Looks like I’ll be coming here next time I’m in town!!
Krystle – you’d love it!
