How to Try on a Bathing Suit and NOT Want to Shoot Yourself

targetbathingsuits

By Get in Shape Girl columnist, Holly G:

****

Happy Belated Mother”s Day, ladies! I hope your day was filled with serious freedom from the house, kids, husband and any applicable family pets(if any).   I spent my day trying to find the “perfect” swimsuit.  Great news, I found a swim suit…not sure if it”s “perfect” but I like it.

But, as I stood looking at my butt in the three-way mirror, I realized a few things and thought I”d fill you in:

1. Bad lighting is NOT your friend, especially when looking at your back side.

2. Don”t eat lunch before trying anything on, especially a bathing suit. Definitely not my smartest move.

3. Remember your audience when choosing a swimsuit. A crocheted cut out suit isn’t the greatest choice for the neighborhood pool. Miami….yes!

4. *** Imporant***  Please don”t beat yourself up whilst trying these skin suckers on. After minutes of self inflicting insults my mom brought me down to reality (yes, she still mothers me) and told me to enjoy my health. Even I need someone to slap me around from time to time.

5. Feeling strong and confident on the inside must translate to the outside. When wearing our suits this summer at the pool or on vacation, let”s remember to embrace our power(we”ve earned it) and walk with our shoulders back, core tight, and remember to hold that head high!!!

Breathe and believe,

Holly
