I tend to make the worst food choices when I’m busy.  Whether I’m heading out the door and need to grab snacks for me and the kids, or I’m running errands and start to get hungry.  That’s when I cave and grab a candy bar or order a giant coffee drink with whipped cream on top.  #hungheadinshame

I’m trying to do better though, and decided to bust out an old favorite recipe of mine.  And of course, spruce it up so I could share it with y’all.  Years ago, I used to be in the habit of making peanut butter balls on the weekend in large enough batches to last the family all week.  The kids love them, but so do Jonnie and I.

So, while shopping at Target, I picked up all of the essentials to make this upgraded version featuring our favorite cereals which I found on sale: No-Bake Energy Cereal Bites!

Select large sized Kellogg cereals are at a price of $2.99 both in-store at Target (I found them on an end-cap) and online at Target.com.  Score!!  I grabbed My family favorites: Frosted Mini Wheats 24 oz and Rice Krispies 18 oz.

Don’t pulverize them!  You want recognizable crumbs.

Add in all of the additional ingredients (except the Rice Krispies) and give it a good stir.

Once the other ingredients are well combined, gently mix in the Rice Krispies cereal.

Now it’s time to get your hands a little dirty.  Roll the cereal mixture in to balls about the size of a ping pong ball.  Let’s say, two bites worth.  🙂  You may need to press the Rice Krispies in just a little bit to get them to stick. Enjoy right away or refrigerate for up to a week!
