An enviable Corner Pantry Makeover? It’s possible! Discover how this food blogger and mom of four (that would be me 🙋) made the most of the dreaded corner pantry!
There are many things I love about my house. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again… I never plan to move. We have all of the space we need, I love our neighbors, and our backyard rocks (if I do say so, myself). I rarely get home envy. Sure, there are homes nicer and bigger than mine. But, I’m content. Except for my pantry.
That darn corner pantry. I’m not sure who decided a corner pantry was a good idea. It certainly wasn’t a food-blogger mom of four kids.
I’ve tried reorganizing it dozens of times. I’ve tried to pare back on what I store in my corner pantry. We started to store our wine somewhere else. That was after the Red Wine Avalanche of 2019. Never store lots of wine bottles on the top shelf of a wire-rack.
Needless to say, when I learned about ShelfGenie®, I knew. I knew that their shelving system would be the answer to my pantry woes. It all sounds pretty dramatic doesn’t it? Well, it is. To me, at least.
By providing better access, improved storage and more organizational options, ShelfGenie’s shelves turned my overcrowded and sagging wire racks into a corner pantry that actually makes people envious. And, that my friends, is hard to do. With ShelfGenie and their affordable Glide-Out shelving solutions, I have easy access to all of my pantry goods.
The result? I only buy what I need. No more getting ranch dressing because I think I ran out. I actually found three in my pantry when I emptied it for the install. I can also see everything at one glance, meaning I can use up what I have too much of. Turns out I had 13 lbs. of pasta in my pantry. THIRTEEN. POUNDS. And, I simply have more space! There’s a whole extra shelf at the top. It’s sturdy enough to store red wine bottles on! #winning
My new pantry has 10 pull out drawers of various heights in order to fit items ranging from canned goods to oversized cereal boxes. In the corners, are adjustable-height lazy susans. Sturdy and large, I can fit a lot on these guys. I also got additional height out of my pantry by adding another shelf. I need a step stool to access it, but that’s probably good for my fancy wine I want to keep for awhile anyway!
I’m sooooo excited about my ShelfGenie Corner Pantry Makeover! Here’s what we did, and how you can bring organization to your pantry and cabinets, too.
The ShelfGenie Corner Pantry Makeover Process
Step 1: Free consultation. You’ll meet with an organizing guru and discuss where you need more space, more organization, or more accessibility. Your ShelfGenie Designer will create a custom solution to solve your trouble areas. Looking through the brochure is an organizers dream.
Step 2: Custom solution. Organizing kitchen cabinets and corner pantries are not one-solution-fits-all. You’re designer will suggest the best solutions for maximizing the efficiency of your space, and show you a 3D-rendered plan of what your future home will look like. I loved seeing the mock-up in advance!
Step 3: Install. After measurements are taken and your products are hand-crafted, your Installer comes to your home and installs everything for you in one day. The crew that did my installation was so professional and took the time to confirm shelving heights and ensure my shelves were where I wanted them.
Step 4: Organize Your ❤️ Out! I spent some time thinking about what ingredients I wanted my kids to be able to reach (and what I didn’t). I also made some labels to reduce the “Where’s the….” questions from the fam.
Turned out great, doncha think?
Bonus Spice Drawer
I hate wasted space and during our consultation my ShelfGenie Designer recommended adding a spice drawer beneath my stove top. Why yes, yes please! Y’all. This has been a life changer.
I had no idea I had so many spices. And I certainly didn’t USE them. Now I can see all the fun spice blends and introduce them in my cooking. Happy dance!
