My kids love watching Saturday morning cartoons; it’s a family tradition generations strong. It also happens to be the one time the little kids get to own the screen (the older ones sleep in!). And when the little ones are in control of the remote, PAW Patrol™ String Cheese is always on top of the list. Every time. Chase and Marshall may as well join the Harding clan. What’s two more boys at this point?

When I “get” to wake up to a cartoon as often as I’ve been able to enjoy PAW Patrol, it’s only natural that I include it in a themed treat for my children. And since we’ve gotten through the most hectic part of the back to school season, I thought it was time that the kids get a Paw Patrol themed lunch box!

The star of my lunch box? PAW Patrol™ String Cheese . My kids always ask for cheese sticks in their lunch. It’s a mom-approved option – because they are made with milk, have 6 grams of protein, calcium, and 0 grams of sugar. Plus, they are an easy grab-and-go lunch box addition. They’re great for snacks too. My kids love how easily the PAW Patrol String Cheese peels, and they love to negotiate who gets what character. (Chase and Marshall are always the top contenders.)

As with all of the lunch boxes I make for the kids, I try to make sure they get protein, dairy, fruit and/or veggies and a treat. With the dairy option covered, I’ve rounded this PAW Patrol Themed Lunch Box out with a few other great goodie – Pup-peroni Pizzas, Melon Balls, and Puppy Chow.

First, I made Pup-peroni Pizzas. Using dog-themed cookie cutters, I made crusts with pita bread. Topped with tomato sauce, pepperoni and some extra cheese these only take a few minutes to bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. All of my kids enjoy melon, and for this lunch box I simply scooped out the melon into balls (for fetching of course)! Puppy and kid-approved!

Finally… the treat. One of my favorite snacks is puppy chow, and kids love it too. (I honestly don’t know anyone that can resist it!) Instead of making a giant batch that I eat for days, I whipped up a small portion – just enough to serve the kids for a few lunches, with a handful for me leftover!

Melt 2 Tbsp. peanut butter with 1/4 cup chocolate chips in the microwave. About 30 -45 seconds should do. Pour over 2 cups of rice cereal. Stir to coat, then pour the cereal into a bag. Toss with 1/4 cup powdered sugar. I added a few PAW Patrol-colored chocolate candies to bring it all together.
