If you haven’t carved out me-time for you yet, there’s still hope. Start out small, then work in more as you feel comfortable. Beyond occasional Thursday nights out, I’ve now kept Saturday mornings for personal time, and I take evening runs after my husband gets home from work. I love my Bob, but it sure is nice to run without a stroller sometimes. Worried about leaving baby to be put to bed by someone else and running not your thing? Go to Saturday brunch with friends, schedule a hair appointment or spa treatment, or just head to a coffee shop with your favorite magazine. A happy mom is a mom that takes care of herself. And, a happy mom means a happier family. Who doesn’t want that?
Don’t let them fool you – me-time is not grocery shopping, errand running, or anything that involves crossing something off of a to-do list. Unless me-time is on your to-do list.
