100 Miles to the Loony Bin

I’m insane. Really. Certifiably. OK, some of you may have already known this. To others of you, this may be new news. Regardless, after I tell you what I’ve done, I’ll be waiting for you to reserve my spot in the loony bin. I’m actually looking forward to it. Lots of sleep, right? And I assume you don’t have to vacuum there either.

It all started with a Facebook post. Several days ago, my friend Sonal posted that she was signing up for a 100-mile running challenge. Yup, she’s running 100 miles in the month of July. Stupid, right? Who wants to run 100 miles in 100 degree weather? I was going to let her know my opinion on this, and then it happened. She challenged me. Darn me for loving a little friendly competition. As if I needed more things on my plate.

So tomorrow, it begins. I’m committing to 100 miles in the month of July. There will be early mornings, a lot of sweat, and of course, a lot of running. In an oddly masochistic way, I’m looking forward to logging my miles daily, tracking my friends’ progress, and of course beating the pants off of everybody. 🙂 As I blog over the course of July, I’ll post my progress.

Now, the only thing left to ask is… who’s in it with me? Click here to officially join the challenge on dailymile.com. Make sure to “friend” me so we can encourage each other along. A pat on the back or a good solid push may be necessary!
