DIY Cheesecake Toppings Bar

Make everyone happy at dessert time by making a DIY Cheesecake Toppings Bar!  Never have to choose between salted caramel or cookies ‘n cream again!

I’m often entertaining family and friends for dinner.  It’s a product of my work (food photography and recipe development) and a genuine love for entertaining.  I do, however, stray from my abode on occasion to enjoy a meal at a home other than mine.  And, as my guests always do, I offer to bring something along.

An appetizer… a salad… a bottle of wine.  I rarely offer to bring dessert.  Why?  Because baking frustrates me.  So many rules.  So much precision.  Bleh.

That said, when I was specifically asked to bring dessert to an event a few days ago, I was flummoxed.  I mean, I can whip up a mean popcorn-marshmallow cake, but I didn’t think that was going to suit this event.  What to do…???

Instead of freaking out or fibbing by telling my hosts that the kids had lice again (after awhile that excuse just gets embarrassing), I decided I would show up with a gift everyone will love – a Sara Lee Classic Cream Cheesecake with all the toppings to make it one of a kind.

Found in the freezer section at Food Lion, Sara Lee Cheesecakes make the perfect grab and go dessert for any occasion.  Especially for non-bakers (or busy parents), like me!

Salted Caramel Pretzel Cheesecake?  Cookies ‘n Cream with Hot Fudge?  Jelly Belly Cheesecake?  Yup.  You can have whatever you like…  And before you question my use of Jelly Beans & Cheesecake, let it be known – it was the kids’ #1 choice.  I, however, opted for the caramel pretzel combo with my cheesecake.  To. Die. For.

For this event, I opted to serve the cheesecake with Caramel, Hot Fudge, fresh fruit, Cookies ‘n Cream cereal, broken up pretzel sticks, and yes… jelly beans.  Next time, I’ll probably add a warm raspberry jam, and maybe a smore’s option – marshmallow, chocolate and graham cracker?  Oh my.

We love that cheesecake. Great topping ideas! Esp the blueberries. Just be sure to thaw it to room temp so it is just right. ?
