You don’t need to do much to S’mores to have a delicious treat. But, when you can, why not add extra crunch and the perfect salty-sweet combo?!? That’s right, folks. We’re making the Ultimate S’mores BBQ, perfect for foodies of all ages! Hello, Week 17 of 52 Weeks of Sweets!
Sometimes I feel like y’all need a little introduction to a post… like why I’m making a certain recipe or what my inspiration is. This time, however, I think a picture shall suffice:
Am I right? Clearly, you can see what is happening here… the ultimate S’mores BBQ. JET-PUFFED Marshmallows. HERSHEY’S Milk Chocolate. HONEY MAID Grahams. You know. The must-haves.
We decided to take it up a notch. Make that three notches. Let’s welcome the new kids to the S’mores party: Bacon, Potato Chips and Dulce de Leche. Depending on your taste, now you have three new options to spice up your traditional S’mores! Sweet or salty.
S’mores have never been the same, y’all.
How To Host The Ultimate S’mores BBQ
Less of a recipe, this Ultimate S’mores BBQ is more of a tutorial in “mise en place.” Which is simply a fancy way of saying, get your stuff in order before you get to cooking.
These are the things that you’ll want to prep in advance for three unique ways to get innovative with your S’mores creation:
Bacon, about 12 ounces should do. Cook however you like, drain and slice into two inch pieces.
Dulce de Leche – you can either make your own or buy it bottled.
Then, for easy access for sticky kid hands, place everything out on trays or in bowls. This includes the JET-PUFFED Marshmallows, HERSHEY’S Milk Chocolate, HONEY MAID Grahams, and chips. I like using the crinkle cut for these for extra crunchy texture.
For this event, we used a tabletop electric grill. Makes it easier for me to control and contain the heat when the kids are around. But you could totally do it over charcoal grill or a fire pit too. Hello camping dessert!!!
Don’t mind if I do…
This guy agrees. I mean that face pretty much sums it all up. #eyeclosedinbliss
I have a feeling we’ll be hosting a few more S’mores BBQs before this summer is out.
