Grilled sausage… three ways. This grilled sausage party appetizer and these two dinners will be your favorite meals of the summer. If you aren’t drooling by the end of this post check your pulse!
There are three words that I use A LOT on this blog. 1) Easy 2) Fast 3) Delicious
Why? Because as a working mom with three kids, dinners have to be all three. And in this post, every recipe can be described as easy, fast and delicious. There are occasions when I’m willing to invest time into whispering sweet nothings to ingredients in hopes of a great meal… that’s when the magic happens after all.
But today? It’s all about being reliable, and if I’m honest… better than a lot of things that I spend hours in the kitchen whipping up.
The star ingredient in today’s recipes is Aidells® sausage from Harris Teeter. Y’all know I have a pretty strong love for my local HT, and I always stock up on Aidells for last minute dinners and party apps when I’m shopping (online, of course). I’ve highlighted the Chicken and Apple Sausage in these meals, mostly because it’s the kids favorite.
But, if you get the chance don’t miss out on Aidells Cajun Style Andouille and Spicy Mango with Jalapeño (which offers some serious kick and is therefore my favorite flavor).
Grilled Sausage and Pineapple Kebabs
This is the kids’ choice for best meal ever. And, they (often) know what they’re talking about. To whip up these delectable grilled sausage and pineapple kebabs alternate chopped pineapple and sliced sausage on metal kebab skewers. Grill over high heat, rotating every few minutes until everything is hot and has nice grill marks.
Grilled Sausage with Honey Mustard Sauce
This one is SOOOOO simple, yet so tasty. This grilled sausage with honey mustard sauce also makes a darn good (and unexpected) appetizer. Guaranteed it’ll be more popular than the hummus and edamame! Cut the sausages into thirds and grill as normal. Serve with skewers and a honey mustard sauce. I combine equal portions of spicy brown mustard and honey.
Grilled Sausage & Veggie Toss
In a world of one pot wonders and sheet pan dinners, you’ll love this one (grill) basket meal. Heat the grill basket up with the grill then cook marinated veggies and the sausage. Winner, winner, chicken sausage dinner!
Grilled Sausage and Veggie Toss
This Grilled Sausage and Veggie Toss is a "one basket" meal. So easy it hardly even merits a recipe!
Ingredients
- 1 package Aidells Chicken & Apple Sausage (12 oz.), cut into thirds
- 8 oz. fresh green beans
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 yellow squash, sliced into rounds
- 1 cup mushrooms, halved
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes
- Marinade:
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 Tb. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tb. balsamic vinegar
- 2 Tb. chopped rosemary leaves
- 1 tsp. grill seasoning
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. black pepper
Instructions
- Combine marinade ingredients in the bottom of a bowl. Add in the veggies (with exception of the cherry tomatoes). Toss to coat.
- Allow to marinate at least 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile heat the grill with a grill basket. Once hot, add in the sliced sausage. Cook until it's starting to brown on all sides. Toss in the veggies, and mix together with grill tongs.
- Continue cooking, tossing occasionally until the veggies are tender. Add the cherry tomatoes. Once they are softened and the veggies begin to char in bits, everything is done!
- Enjoy!
If you haven’t tried it yet, be sure to check out Harris Teeter’s Myxx site, which is a fantastic way to meal plan and shop at the same time. Once those groceries are added to your cart and ordered, go pick up the groceries in the Harris Teeter Express Lane. They load your groceries in the car, y’all. Hello, time saver!
While checking out the Myxx platform, be sure to get another great recipe featuring Aidells sausage and grilled pears. Yum!
