I’m ready for some football (food).  How about you?  Sure, for some people this season may be all about school busses and crayons, but for me?  It’s nacho and wing time!

It’s been awhile since I’ve been able to a football game unencumbered (thanks a lot, kids), so this year we’re cheering on the home team from the comfort of home.  Fortunately, that also means I don’t have to haul my grill, cooler and the food to feed a small army to a parking lot in full sun.   Nope, I’ve got everything at the ready right here, and we’re making these Rum and Coke wings to complete the party.

Y’all.  These are durn good.  Make the Rum & Coke glaze a day in advance, then simply roast the wings in the oven once you’re ready to enjoy them for the game!  Score your ingredients for these Rum & Coke Chicken Wings, along with all of your football party supplies, at Sam’s Club.  Stocking up is easy when I use Club Pickup. Simply order online and Sam’s Club will have everything ready for you. This is a great option when purchasing heavier items, like Coca-Cola®  beverages.

And, don’t forget the paper products!  You’ll be glad you don’t have to do the dishes after everyone is gone!

How to Cook Rum & Coke Chicken Wings

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Mix the dry rub ingredients together.  Place the chicken wings in a large bowl and toss with the dry rub.  Cover and marinate for at least 15 minutes, or overnight (in which case you’ll want to put them back in the refrigerator to marinate).

In a medium sauce pan, add in the Coca-Cola®, rum, honey, ketchup, salt, red pepper flakes and Worcestershire sauce.  Allow to simmer and cook down for 20 minutes, or until thickened.  Add in the butter and remove from heat.

Add the wings to a sheet pan coated with parchment paper.  Bake for 25 minutes, or until cooked through.  Pour the thickened sauce over the wings.

Return to the oven to cook, 30 minutes, flipping the wings once or twice to make sure they stay coated.  The wings will be done when they are dark and sticky.

Enjoy as is, or with ranch and hot sauce!  Be sure to provide plenty of napkins.  You’ve been warned!

You say “Add in the butter” but I need to know how much butter.
It’s not on the ingredients list.

Wouldn’t that be helpful? I’ve updated the recipe to reflect 4 Tbsp. of butter. Sorry for the oversight!
