What makes a Cadbury Creme Egg better? Turning it into a martini. Have your dessert and drink it too this spring season by serving this Cadbury Creme Egg Martini recipe on your Easter menu!
Week 9 of #52WeeksofSweets, already? It’s time to take it up a notch… let’s have our dessert and drink it too! That’s how I’m rolling this Easter. I couldn’t possibly try to top the deliciousness of a Cadbury Creme Egg with any dessert of my own creation.
Instead, we’re making the Cadbury Creme Egg better, then only way I know how. By adding booze. Allow me to introduce you to my new favorite treat: the Cadbury Creme Egg Martini.
Y’all. This isn’t your typical cloyingly sweet chocolate martini. I gotta be honest, I usually shy away from those. This… this… is light and slightly creamy, with sweetness cut by vodka. A little chocolate garnish, and a Cadbury Creme Egg on top.
It’s a little ridiculous. But so is the idea that an illustrious rabbit hides candy-filled eggs in my backyard. I’ll need more than just one martini to wrap my head around that one.
Cadbury Creme Egg Martini
First let’s make the martini glasses extra festive! Melt chocolate chips in the microwave in 30 second increments, stirring in between. It’s done when the chocolate is warm enough to just melt and stir to be smooth.
Dip each glass in the chocolate and hold upside down, allowing the chocolate to drip off. Turn your glasses right-up, then refrigerate until ready to use.
In a medium-sized pitcher, combine condensed milk, 1/2 cup of vodka, and four drops of yellow food coloring. Whisk and chill.
When ready to assemble the cocktails, divide the condensed milk mixture amongst the chilled martini glasses, filling them 2/3 of the way up. In a large pitcher (or make individually in a cocktail shaker if you prefer), combine the whole or low-fat milk, 1/4 cup of vodka, 1/3 cup of white creme de cacao and ice. Stir or shake and pour the mixture to fill the glasses. Garnish with grated chocolate.
Halve each Cadbury Creme Egg and seal to the edge of the glass using leftover chocolate from dipping the rims of the glasses. Hold firm until chocolate hardens (about 30 seconds).
