Put that mom bag aside and get the basic essentials for your next date! With these few products you’ll be able to fit everything you need in a trendy clutch!
When’s the last time you went on a date night? Has it been awhile? Maybe it’s time to book a sitter! My husband and I try to get out without the children every other week. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn’t, but we’re pretty good about making time for each other and our relationship.
With kids, jobs, and family all demanding and deserving time, my husband and I have learned that scheduling in a date night for Thursday nights is the best way for us to make sure that we get to spend fun time together. We like Thursdays because not only is it easier to score a sitter, but we’re less likely to get stuck in over-crowded bars or waiting hours to get in to our favorite restaurants. It’s also usually a little more casual. And since my wardrobe is more mom and career focused and a little less party-scene oriented, that works well for me.
The one thing I have to do every time we go out though is pack a Date Night Bag. Ain’t no way I’m taking the giant mom-bag out when it’s just the two of us, so it’s necessary to pare down. I’ve become accustomed to carry everything I own with me everywhere I go. If you have kids, you understand. You never know when you might need a wet wipe, cheerios, an extra pair of socks, or a fork. Seriously.
But on Date Night? I’m hoping the extra socks and cheerios won’t be necessary. Instead, I pack the things that will make sure I can enjoy my date night, and will set me up for a decent Friday. Here’s what I put in my little date purse:
1: Advil Tablet Vial. I always, always, keep advil on hands for headaches, minor arthritis and other joint pain, muscle aches and pains of the common cold. Plus, nothing’s stronger, longer lasting or better on your tough aches and pains than Advil, and nothing works on more pains than Advil (among OTC pain relievers). I love the Advil Tablet Vial as it’s small enough to tuck into my date night bag.
2: Nexium 24 HR. Do you have heartburn? I first got it when I was pregnant, and now get visited by the heartburn fairy whenever I over-indulge, making it smart add-in to my date night purse. You only need to take one a day for all-day, all night frequent heartburn protection. Keep in mind that it may take 1 to 4 days for full effect. And, of course, use as directed.
3: Emergen-C. I’m a big fan of Emergen-C products, and I like to keep the individual supplements to add to a water drink while out. It’s a great way to flavor water to re-hydrate between glasses of wine! With over 20 varieties of vitamin supplement drink mixes, Emergen-C offers the formula, flavor, fix, and FUN you’re looking for!
4: Stain Remover. Don’t let spilled red wine ruin your night! I keep a stain removing pen for any little emergencies!
5: Tissues. I have allergies. ‘Nuff said.
6: Lip gloss. Gotta keep those lips purty!
7: Mirror. Gotta make sure I keep the lip gloss on the lips! 🙂
8: Hair Brush. I’m not going to feel good about myself if my hair gets whacky, so even if I have a small purse, I make sure there’s room for my brush!
9: Business Cards. I cannot tell you how many times I run into potential clients when out and about. And it seems like I never have my business cards on me when I actually need them. So now, I make sure I take them everywhere!
10: Nail file. Broken nails are the worst!
11: Mouthwash. For obvious reasons, folks!
All of these supplies, including the Pfizer products can be found at Walmart!
