Bacon Wrapped Chicken Nuggets are the game day app you’ve been looking for!  Crispy bacon wraps golden chicken nuggets is your winning finger food!

Bacon Wrapped Chicken Nuggets are the game day app you've been looking for!  Crispy bacon wraps golden chicken nuggets in this winning finger food!

Sometimes when I enter the kitchen to work on a new recipe I know exactly what I’m going to do.  Other times… not so much.  Today was a day when I wasn’t quite sure how I was going to turn our family’s favorite chicken nuggets into a show-stopper game time app.

I knew bacon would be involved.  Because…. bacon.  But I wasn’t quite sure if I was going to use it in a dip, make a casserole, or go the finger food route.  I tried a few different things, but when I came up with this simple bacon-wrapped chicken nugget concept, I knew – I’d done did it.

Y’all it’s soooo simple!  Why, oh, why has it taken me over 30 years to figure out?  The only thing better than this breaded chicken is breaded chicken wrapped in crispy bacon!

I prefer the combo dipped in an Asian sweet chili sauce for a smoky, spicy and sweet combo, but it’s absolutely fab as-is.  Or pull out all the stops and serve these Bacon Wrapped Chicken Nuggets with a spread of various dips.  They’d be great with ranch, buffalo, blue cheese and barbecue sauce, too!

So are you ready to get your game day homegating on?  THIS is the recipe you need to plan on making for smiles all around… no matter what happens in the game!

The key to success with this recipe is to CLEAR THE KITCHEN before you get started.  When you tell your guests you’re making Bacon Wrapped Chicken Nuggets, they tend to hover.

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.  Using a sharp knife, slice one pound of bacon in half.  Wrap each chicken nugget with a strip of bacon, and place on a large rimmed bacon sheet, seam-down.  Repeat with remaining bacon slices and chicken.

Place in the oven and bake, approximately 20-25 minutes, turning the nuggets over about 15 minutes through.  You don’t want to flip them until they look close to being done.  This will ensure that the bacon stays wrapped and doesn’t come loose.  If the bacon looks like it’s cooking up too quickly, reduce the oven temperature to 375 degrees.
